Great Works very well.
Let's face it, we've all done it. Bought something we didn't need because an email told you to. This is my case. However... It does work as expected...mostly... I had to recreate all of my smart devices and associate them with the new mesh network. I have a 1700 sf house so this is overkill but I AirBnB the lower half and wanted the best coverage for my guests. No complaints. , plus I have a bunch of other TP-Link devices. That's the key, sticking with one vendor for all of this. I will likely replace my Wyze cameras and gear with TP-Link to make things easier on me. Overall, no complaints.
TP Link’s Mesh router works great with my T-Mobile Home Internet services.
I have used two generations of TP-Link wireless routers. Archer C9 AC 1900 and Deco M5. This will be the third one. I am satisfied with their performance and reliability. I expect this Deco X55 would have the same quality as the previous generations. The first thing I noticed when unboxing the X55 package is the size. The device and power adapter are much bigger than the M5. I wanted to swap my current M5 ones. It was easier than I expected. First, start the Deco app on the phone. Don’t delete the existing network. Power on one of X55’s next to the main M5. Add the X55 to the mesh network. Yes, they can work together. At this time, the main one should still be the M5. Then switching the main one to the X55. The app will initiate a reboot of all access points. At this time, unplug the ethernet cable from the M5 and connect to the X55. After the reboot, the app will show the main one on the X55. Do the same thing on the other two. All the settings are preserved. Before the swap I did a speed test on my MacBook Pro. The download speed was 154.6 Mbps. After the swap, the download speed is 210.9 Mbps. Besides the speed, I noticed the WiFi coverage is bigger. My whole house already has very good coverage with the old one. With the new ones I can get very good signals when I am in the backyard and my neighborhood.I have been using the new mesh network for about two weeks. They are just what I expected. I highly recommend TP-Link products.
Excellent mesh routers
I considered several different mesh WiFi units before settling on the Deco AX3000. I wanted WiFi-6 and direct ethernet connecters on each unit. I downloaded the manuals for each to determine the setup procedure. One of the main reasons I choose this device is the easy setup. It’s done via an app on the cell phone and it very easy. After deciding on a network name and password, the device are ready to go. Just plug in the satellites and wait for them to establish communications.
Setup Was A Total Breeze
I've had my eye on a Deco wifi mesh system for a while and finally decided to go for it recently. It was incredibly easy to set up - so much so that when I was finished, I was almost disappointed. "That's it? I don't have to curse & throw things? Wow. OK!" There are so many things I love about this Deco, one of which is that I can look at the app on my phone and see at a glance exactly what devices are connected to the internet at any given moment. Great for keeping tabs on the kid who is actually streaming a movie on his phone when he was supposed to be in bed over an hour ago. I also love that there are Parental Controls I can set up to put an end to those late night shenanigans (which I'll probably have to do soon). But best of all is how much it's improved our internet speed. We live in Florida and have a really lousy internet provider. Unfortunately, they're the only game in town so we limp along with subpar speed and constant dropped connections. They say we should be getting 20 Mbps but usually when I do a speed test, we're getting about 12. It's seriously horrible. But since I hooked up the Deco, the speed is so much better. I've run speed tests several times since I installed the Deco and haven't had anything less than 20 - we're averaging about 24 Mbps, which is a major improvement, believe me. (I'm attaching a screenshot of the results of the test I just ran) I'm impressed and highly recommend the Deco AX3000.
